Learn with Pam

Yoga encourages self-acceptance over self-improvement. That’s why anyone can practice yoga. Yoga invites you to start where you are.

I have been introducing people to yoga for over 20 years, and love to share the basics of hatha yoga and see you progress.

Naturally, the class you choose is important. Below are some ideas on how to choose the level best suited to your experience and intentions.

Beginners

Brand new to yoga or still getting to grips with the basics.

It’s best to learn the basics, which includes a class structure that becomes familiar to you, as well as beginner’s poses, or asana.

The intensity of the class matters. If you are a beginner but very fit, and able to handle a more rigorous routine, seek a general beginner’s, “basics” or “all levels” class.

You may be less mobile and need a slower-paced class. Seek a “gentle” or even a chair-yoga class until you feel ready to try a more traditional beginner’s approach. Chronic illness or injury recovery can also be supported with yoga; in this case the best support might be in a restorative class, or consider a one to one session

I love to share the basics with people new to yoga, and have been introducing people to yoga for over 20 years.

Rachel and Pam are delighted to invite you to connect body, mind, spirit and story through the powerful processes of yoga and writing.

Yoga allows us to hear and make space for the body’s stories. Writing gives these stories form, shape, a narrative. It bears witness to our bodily experiences.

Our nervous system is where all our stories begin. And the mind doesn’t recognise the difference between an actual or perceived threat. In addition to our everyday concerns, Covid-19 with its fears real and imagined has put tremendous pressure on us all. Consequently, any past experiences with trauma and anxiety will become the story used to frame your current experience, locking your body in a chronic state of agitation.

This experiential retreat will allow deep reflection and processing of where you are now, giving tools and time to explore and express both conscious and as-yet-unexpressed emotions, restoring balance to the heart and mind.

Yoga & Sleep

These special retreats allow you to stop. Leaving mundane activities to the side for the weekend allows you to find inner stillness and quiet, rest and recharge, and practice the positive habits that allow you to thrive in life. Yoga, meditation, and relaxation techniques will help you re-set. Pam has led countless Yoga & Sleep retreats over the past decade. Her experience and gentle touch are and integral part of this deeply rejuvenating experience.

Courtyard Yoga Day Retreat

Re-set your body and mind on this autumn day retreat.

Breathwork to help cleanse the body will be introduced.

The afternoon will comprise of restorative poses and a self-massage, to ease out tension in the body. A short meditation to center the mind will round off the day, and set you up for a

Pam Butler Yoga Day Retreat

ONE TO ONE

ONE TO ONE

Traditionally, yoga was taught one to one to address specific needs of the individual, on that particular day, taking into account the time of life and physical capacity. By addressing your specific needs, private instruction helps you to develop your strength and confidence. Build and refine your practice organically and compassionately, with guidance.

Clients often join (or re-join) a group class when they are ready.

Private classes can be done online.

Tailored to your life, personal issues, and experience of yoga, one to one sessions can open you to new ideas and refine your current practice. Get in touch to find out more.

Learn

As a beginner who wishes to explore yoga in a private setting, or to work on a particular goal. Previous clients have chosen private lessons to improve their golf game, work gently with very stiff joints, strengthen a depleted immune system, and strengthen a weak physical structure that was
causing pain and fatigue.

Restore

If your priority is stress management, very gentle restorative techniques like relaxation practices, practices for specific womens’ issues, and more therapeutic applications are very beneficial. We will set up a simple practice you can do on your own to amplify the stress-reducing benefits that yoga brings. A private practice like this can also benefit from restorative workshops.

Refine

Those with yoga experience may wish to review, improve or learn more – whether it is to delve into a new pose, improve the rhythm of practice, or understand and prioritise the essentials for a well rounded personal practice tailored to your needs.

How it Works

Phone consultation: Free. We will discuss your needs and how to proceed.
One session: €60
4 sessions: €220, to be used within 8 weeks of purchase.

At the beginning of each session we discuss your progress and make any changes needed to our plan. The goal is to help you work through your challenge and end up with a suitable practice for your progression or maintenance.
